Fuck your LLM.

I will keep this short: This bubble is annoying as fuck, and I can't wait for it to burst. In my opinion, LLMs are actively making the world a worse place. They create convincing looking bullshit. Stop claiming that there is intelligence involved. The term "AI" is a misnomer and an insult. LLMs can bring some utility in specific situations. Their output can be useful nucleation sites when writing text. But most of the time they are just a marketing gag without actual value or benefit for humanity. It's "cool" to "do AI" for companies now, and everyone feels like they have to jump on the bandwagon - without an actual need for any of this.

Because I don't want to spend any more of my time on this than necessary, some reminders:

• LLMs are actively wasting our remaining carbon budget in the increasing climate crisis.
• LLMs are being shoved down everyones throat. Popular operating systems are spreading wasteful computing by default, which most users are unaware of.
• LLMs are theft. Methods published by the common LLM-companies to prevent scraping of content are nothing more than a smokescreen. In my opinion, their current behaviour is criminal.
• People in powerful positions like Microsoft's "CEO of AI" display a lack of basic morals and understanding of intellectual property.
• Usage of LLMs poses actual threat to human life, because people are being told the lie that LLMs can be trusted.
• Investors in LLM-companies are guiding the public narrative and lobbying governments to line their pockets. They are incredibly biased and misleading.

If you try to market your stuff with any kind of "AI" to me, I will actively try to avoid your product. Our conversation will end as soon as you try to pitch your LLM crap to me. Sadly, companies and marketing people seem to be completely delusional currently, and try to sell their OpenAI subscription as "new AI features" in their products. Honestly, it would be kind of funny to watch this, if it would not make my personal and professional life an absolute hell for needing to deal with the fallout of this.
